The much awaited Fit Me range is finally available in India. I have already used the concealer from this range, I love it, you can find the review (here). I got my hands on the concealer much before they were launched in India. But I dint try the foundation then , so the release of the oh so famous Fit Me foundation, cannot stop any makeup lover from staying away. In fact the Matte plus Poreless formula is much more hyped than the original version. After Maybelline launched the matte formula, I went crazy and ordered this baby on Amazon India. Got delivered within a couple of days and since then I’ve tested it out like crazy to review it here.
What the brand claims:
Fit Me! Matte + Poreless from Maybelline New York goes beyond skin tone matching to fit the unique texture issues of normal to oily skin for the ultimate natural skin fit. While some foundations can exaggerate pores and oily skin, only Maybelline’s pore-minimizing foundation contains their genius blurring micro-powders that erase pores and absorb oil for a naturally matte and poreless-looking finish. Dermatologist and allergy tested. Does not clog pores. Oil-free.
Rs 525 for 30 ml
The Pros and Cons:
This Maybelline foundation is one of the best drugstore foundations I’ve tried. There cannot be one thing that I can blame about the quality of the foundation. It’s not matte, Its smooth and satiny and very easy to blend, sort of blurs pores to an extent, not completely though! The coverage is medium and can definitely be built up. It’s made for normal to oily skin and the way it feels on the skin is totally weightless. I really enjoy when I have this foundation on because I totally forget that I have foundation on. It stays put for a good six hours on me (that is the maximum time I’ve worn the foundation) and no fading of foundation or I dint have a oily T zone, I came home to see that the foundation looked exactly like what I had put on. It will show up a bit patchy on dry areas, if you fail to moisturize well, because I had this patch of dryness below my lip which I dint take care of and by the end of three hours or so of wearing this foundation, the dry spot looked patchy. I always tend to set my foundation so I don’t know how it would perform if it was not set. I don’t think it’s a bad foundation for dry skinned people as well because it’s not that matte. If they moisturize well then there shouldn’t be a problem. Another thing is that it does not oxidize over time.
About the cons, honestly there aren’t many. I don’t understand why Maybelline launched only 6 shades in India when originally 24 shades were launched in the States. Maybelline should consider that there are a variety of skin tones available in India as well. An addition of four shades or so with different undertones, especially from the medium to dark category would have been fantastic. Even women of color exist in our country and we should have access to good makeup. The shade that I use it not an exact match on me, it’s too orange, but since I love the formula I manage balancing it out with concealers and powders. Such a product, should have been catered to all skin tones with different undertones. That’s a bummer. There is no pump, it’s actually not that big a con for me, cause I am used to it but It may look like a huge problem for a lot of people.
The Maybelline Fit Me Matte + Poreless in one of a kind foundation. It comes with great quality at a very affordable price tag. The shade range might be a bit of a downside, but if you are lucky enough to find you shade match then this could be your holy grail regardless of the skin type, but if you have very dry skin then you might skip this in winters. Over all highly recommend that you check your shade and if you find your shade then grab immediately.
