Finally I am trying to behave like a proper beauty blogger. I am trying hard to blog as frequently as I can. I appreciate the whole blogging world now, I can feel it you guys! Now coming on to the actual review, I am sure all of you should be super familiar with the Too Faced Chocolate Bar Palette. It is one super hyped , best sellers from Too Faced. The more warmer deeper counterpart to the original Chocolate Bar, is this baby, the Too Faced Semi – Sweet Chocolate Bar Palette. This has been her for a while now and I see that there isn’t much of love that this palette has got as much as the original version received. Nevertheless, I love this palette to bits. Onto some more details below.
What it does: (From the website)
Inspired by Too Faced’s Chocolate Bar Eye Shadow Collection, this Semi-Sweet Chocolate Bar palette is a deeper, warmer version of the original coveted palette. Infused with the scent of sweet chocolate, this collection features 16 antioxidant-rich, cocoa powder-infused shadows in matte and shimmer shades with warm caramels, deep mochas, bronzy chocolate, and vibrant sugared blueberry hues. These rich, high-pigment shades are perfect for any season, and it includes a signature how-to Glamour Guide to help you get started with three eye looks.
My experience with the palette:
I don’t own the original Chocolate Bar so I cannot compare it to this one, but this one as it is, is a winner to me. This is the only travel palette that I carry with me when I travel. It is so versatile, from neutral day looks to dark smokey looks anything can be achieved using this palette. Okay I just forgot to mention that the USP all the chocolate palettes is that, they the eye shadows are infused with cocoa powder which gives them the sweet chocolate smell. I am not a person who would buy makeup for such fancy things, but honestly the chocolate fragrance did melt my heart. I really thought that the smell wouldn’t last as much but now I know that I used the palette multiple, multiple times and still the smell is of fresh cocoa. So if you are a chocolate fan you would love it. Coming to the quality of the eye shadows, that is where my love for this palette is, All the eye shadows except one eye shadow ( pink sugar) do have consistently good pigmentation and are smooth in texture. These are not the types that crumble when you hit the pan with your brush. These are smooth but a little stiff so you have to work your brush to get the product in it. I see that this palette has not received as much of love as the previous one, but I just don’t get it because there isn’t a miss in pigmentation or texture. This is predominantly a warm palette, with a few cooler tones shades to balance things out. Again two things that everyone complains about are the two shades Pink Sugar and Blueberry Swirl. But to me, I don’t see that as a miss, because Pink Sugar is a pink glitter spray that is supposed to go on top of eye shadows to give a glittery look. So it is understandable that the shade is not meant to be a eye shadow on itself next Blueberry swirl to me is very decently pigmented, but as others see it, I don’t see that as a popping blue shade, it is a dirty blue shade with a black undertone to it so it makes sense to me as to why it does not pop as much. I know pictures speak more than words so I am leaving swatches to all these shades on my tan brown Indian skin ( Makeupforever Ultra HD no 170)
I would rate this palette a 4.75/5 because I really love the colour selection and texture and packaging on this palette. But if you are not the one who are into neutrals or if you are really concerned about those two shades which do not work as much as expected then this palette is not your cup of tea.
